Chemical properties:
o-Phenylenediamine has more active chemical properties. It can be condensed with acids, aldehydes, ketones and other compounds to obtain heterocyclic compounds. It can also undergo oxidation, polycondensation, substitution, and diazotization reactions.
Market analysis:
The consumption ratio of o-phenylenediamine is roughly 70% for pesticide fungicides, 10% for rubber additives, 5% for pharmaceuticals, and 15% for other areas. In the pesticide industry, o-phenylenediamine is mainly used to produce benzimidazoles. Fungicides, such as carbendazim, thiophanate, mebendazole, etc., and those containing a benzimidazole ring structure have become a direction for the research and development of new fungicides. The representative product is a broad-spectrum and high-efficiency systemic carbendazim; the benzimidazole compounds derived from o-phenylenediamine are not only used to synthesize fungicides, but also can prevent plastic pollution and improve resin strength. In the pharmaceutical industry, o-phenylenediamine can be used to synthesize antipsychotic drugs. Pimoxifen, droperidol, histamine clemizole and veterinary anthelmintic are all benzimidazole compounds, all of which have o-phenylenediamine as raw materials. Rubber additives, mainly used in synthetic rubber antioxidants MB and MBZ, but the domestic production scale is not large. In other aspects, benzotriazole can be used as corrosion inhibitor, leveling agent, photosensitive material and analytical reagent. This year, the demand for o-phenylenediamine, especially high-quality white o-phenylenediamine, has increased rapidly, and the export volume has increased year by year.
Usage:1,2-diaminobenzene is an intermediate of dyes, pesticides, additives, photosensitive materials, etc. It is the dyestuff yellow brown M. It is used in the manufacture of polyamide, polyurethane, bactericides carbendazim and thiophanate, reducing scarlet GG, leveling agent, antioxidant MB, and also used in the preparation of developer, surfactant, etc.
